This contemporary residence, situated in a typical Luxembourgish hillside context, showcases a sophisticated dialogue between minimalist cubic geometry and the rugged topography of its site.

     The building is composed of interlocking white cubic volumes that create a clean, sharp silhouette against the lush greenery of the surrounding slope.

     The upper floors are finished in a crisp white render, contrasted by a textured, vertically-grooved grey base at the street level. The facade features a rhythmic arrangement of large, dark-framed rectangular windows and slender vertical apertures, ensuring privacy while maximizing natural light. The structure is tucked between a traditional mansard-roofed townhouse and a modern neighbor, acting as a stylistic bridge that favors contemporary abstraction. A defining feature of the project is its expert handling of the steep terrain through a series of terraced stone gabions and masonry retaining walls.

     The setbacks in the building’s volume create expansive rooftop terraces and tiered garden levels, providing seamless indoor-outdoor transitions. Local stone used for the retaining walls anchors the white geometry to the earth, while a “green roof” aesthetic is maintained through integrated planters and lawn sections. The ground floor is recessed to accommodate a sheltered entrance and a multi-car garage, minimizing the building’s impact on the streetscape. The living spaces are elevated to capture panoramic views of the Ardennes-style landscape, with large sliding glass doors in the kitchen and lounge areas opening onto private, sun-drenched decks.
