The Architect’s Perspective

     The design intervention centers on the concept of dynamic envelopment. By wrapping the primary volume in a secondary skin of vertical rhythmic fins, the project breaks down the “big box” massing typical of sports arenas. The fluid, wave-like geometry of the lower edge serves a dual purpose: it creates a sheltered, organic transition for public circulation at the ground level and mimics the undulating movement of skates on ice. Architecturally, the facade acts as a permeable veil, balancing the industrial nature of the arena with a soft, inviting urban presence that integrates seamlessly into the public plaza through integrated landscape lighting and pedestrian-centric pathways.

The Archviz Artist’s Perspective

     From a visualization standpoint, this project is an exercise in chromatic vibrancy and light interaction. The centerpiece is the programmable LED system integrated into the vertical fins, creating a “rainbow” gradient that provides a striking contrast against the deep blue of the “blue hour” sky. For the artist, the challenge lies in the diffuse glow—ensuring the light spill from the facade feels physically accurate as it reflects off the wet-look pavement and concrete seating. The use of a “beauty shot” with a literal rainbow creates a thematic link between the sky and the building, emphasizing the arena as a beacon of light within the cityscape through meticulous control of bloom, exposure, and saturation.
